after a rather harrowing air travel experience, we arrived in sacramento approximately two hours after our scheduled arrival time. our pdx-smf leg was delayed so much that we probably could have taken that flight from eugene to pdx and still make our flight even though we would have been an hour and a half late. but no. now we have to pay for gas to portland AND parking. ok, whining complete.

after going straight to bed, we awoke this morning to breakfast with family followed by an excess of presents. i, of course, was one again forced to defend my way of life because cooking eggs in bacon fat is not vegetarian. apparently i am high maintenance.

carrie is living at my parents’ house temporarily because her landlord needed to destroy and rebuild her bathroom. this means that the greatest cat in the world is staying here too. my kitty from growing up, sneakers, is here. after ten minutes of hiding under the bed, he decided that finger sniffing and belly rubs were the way to go and came out for some maximum extreme snuggling. and let me tell you, this kitty is the best at tummy. a couple years ago, my mom had him shaved into a “lion” cut. it is unbelievably hilarious to look at, but it accentuates the tummy in every way. basically you can see just what a sausage he is. sneakers put the slut in slut and bellied up for some tummy time with me and dylan and our camera. see here. and for those of you who are too lazy to link:

isnt’ he the cutest? and yes i know he looks exactly like a bigger, fatter, smarter, more wall-eyed miko. it’s uncanny.

also, christine…hilariously enough, my mom got me that cute jacket from banana republic for christmas. you know the brown one with the elbow patches. dylan says that now they have to call me the professor.
