well, i should begin with new years eve:
yesterday some people finally came to look at our house. they seemed pretty interested and were asking how soon they could move in…like coud they move in the next two or three days. so we are just waiting to hear from our landlord if they passed the credit check etc, and then we could be moving in the next couple days. yeesh! maybe we should start packing. the afternoon involved dylan and i shopping for a washer/dryer set for our new house so that if, in fact, we do move in the next few days we will not be caught without laundry. we went looking at new ones, and then decided that they were all way too expensive so we hit up sushi to discuss our next move. the fish told us that we should go to st. vincent’s and shop their selection of refurbished machines. a spicy tuna roll later we were off to st. vin’s only to find the perfect pair of maytags for a mere 400 for the set. compared to the new ones, a spanking great deal. we immediately called our friends and told them we must go a celebrate! no, wait…that’s not right. we met up with friends and taxied over to mcmenamins for drinks and all the tots we could manage and then it was off to the indigo district for many more drinks, a new years countdown and dancing. we called for a cab home around 1 30 and finally around 3am it arrived to take our weary group of merrymakers home.
this morning we woke up to a crazy wind storm that managed to keep me up long enough to roll out of bed only to crack my knee on the wood when i got back in bed a minute later. i finally rolled myself out of bed around 11 30 and dylan, christine and i set off in search of the city’s best breakfast, cafe sienna. we arrived, tummies rumbling, only to find that it was closed along with every other good breakfast restaurant in the city. after we had given up on breakfast, christine and i headed off to order my glasses so i can see stuff. glasses are super cute and i will get them in about 7 to 10 days. and for the rest of the evening, i am couch bound. movies + sleep = good.
