don’t ever move this way if you can help it. put all of your things in boxes and rent a truck. do not move things a carload at a time for weeks on end. what you will end up finding out is that nearly all of your belongings are lost, and or deemed unnecessary for living when you are already staying in your new house and somehow are getting along fine without the assistance of that automatic something-or-other. once all of the necessities have been moved, any motivation you might have to drive back to the old house and load up your remaining possessions (aka junk) has disappeared. what if we just left it there for the next tenants? would they mind? here you go, a perfectly good, never been used crock-pot that we were too lazy to move along with our underwear drawer (major necessity), it has a timer and everything. seriously rent a truck.
we purchased our third appliance today. a brand-newly-refurbished stove to replace the scary mustard yellow one with the broken fire hazard burner and thirty years of baked on grease inside the oven. of course the new stove will be celebrated in style tonight with an honorary sushi night. of course the stove is a complete un-necessity for sushi but whatever. in other house news, no we are nowhere close to being done moving. but i have curtains hanging where it counts and that means all the naked time dylan and i can stand. and with that over-share i leave you all to finish cleaning up so that when people arrive for delicious sushi in approximately 6 hours they won’t be appalled at the mess in here.
