as of 2:59 pm today, i am an aunt! again! caitlin is here! happy birthday baby. and my sister is my new hero; the anesthesiologist was tied up in surgery…no epidural. yikes! but regardless a healthy baby girl and a very happy family. congrats vicka and chris! you have the family you have always dreamed of. i love you guys :)

in non-baby news…dylan and i have bought furniture. with the money i made from selling my car, dylan and i were able to buy a new couch, chair and a half, and ottoman. our couch is a beautiful eggplant purple fabric that is so very soft and the chair and ottoman are a fantastic green that is even softer than the couch. they are getting delivered on tuesday, and until then dylan and i are cursing our lack of anything to sit on.
i had my first day back at work today. no big deal, but strange, none-the-less, to be back in the home of my old clients only to find that absolutely nothing has changed. the few hours i spent there were good though. up until then and still a little bit, i had been feeling like we were only just visiting. a very strange non-reality, if you ask me. so work did a lot towards making all of this seem normal.
our new house is going to be great; especially after we get furniture. it is so much bigger than our place in tucson…i have several empty kitchen cabinets. and having the garage is fabulous because dylan can keep all of his tools out there and all of the things that you really don’t want to store on the floor of your closet (like luggage) can go out there too. plus we have a washer and dryer in the garage too. that leaves room in the house for dylan’s drums and desk in the office, and room for my desk and sewing machines in the would-be dining area. the house was built a long time ago and it is extra nice because it wasn’t designed to be rented. a family actually lived here so it is set up like a regular HOME instead of a crappy rental property. we are almost finished un-packing, but the lack of furniture and the ridiculous amount of laundry is hindering the progress. all in good time, right? t-minus 35 loads of laundry to go.
